Ok, first I love this song, cause I know it's being heard in Stadium's Nation Wide! It's upbeat sound, and classic Lovehammer riffs are very clear here.......
I just love hearing this song Live! The band does many variations of this song, with the "pump up" parts and switches in it, is just AWESOME to hear Live is all!
I also can always remember Marty, jumping, you can hear the performance on the CD in certain parts, is just an awesome song!

I seem to tie LH songs to my family. When I first heard this song I immediately thought of my son. He had just recently been told by his fiance that she "didn't want to be engaged anymore." I knew a lot had to do with things that had happened to her over the previous year and how she was or wasn't dealing with them.
My son is a very caring and understanding young man, and while I know he was hurting, he also understood the problems she was having and I could see him playing this song for her.
Unfortunately, I don't think he saw this song that way, I haven't been able to get him hammered yet. But every time I hear this song I think of the two of them.

Hold On
Everytime I hear this song is reminds me of my best friend. She had been w/someone for over 13yrs and then they broke up right before Christmas. She had a lot of rough goings after the break up. First with trying to sell their house. Him moving out and not giving money for the bills and moving out of state. And much more that I can’t really divulge due to her privacy.
But this part of the song:
I can't believe what's happened to you in one year, one year
Really hits home because it was one year of pure hell for her!
I think out of this she has become a stronger person and some self discovery about herself.
Clouds will clear and the sun will shine
I always told her that eventually it will get better but to stay strong and true to yourself. And boom house sold and bought herself a townhome to call her own! I’m so proud of her being strong and learning that no matter what life throws at you to stand tall and push forward. But it is ok to have those doubts and moments of crying, it will only make you stronger!
I will be here till the end of time
This part really speaks to me because I always put everyone else first. I will do anything for anyone. I would take my shirt off for anyone I really care about (well not literally but u know what I mean LOL). I don’t like focus to be on me or burden anyone with my troubles. But I feel that after what happened it made us closer as friends because she realized what a true friend is.
And Marty is the master of lyrics and expression. I love they way he puts commitment & passion into every song he sings. True Master!

Lovehammers songs touch me personally always. That is one of the reasons that I love their music so very much. This song is close to me because I did have a lot happen to me in one year. One thing I had happen to me in one year was losing an extremely great teacher friend, in a car accident. She was on her way to work with her son on a country road driving to work one morning and she was driving without her seatbelt. She lost control of her suburban and her son flew out of the windshield and she died on the spot. Her son survived. Some of her students were on a school bus and recognized her suburban and knew it was her. She was a wonderful teacher, once named teacher of the year and she always had a smile on her face and was always positive and friendly with everyone she met. I miss her dearly.

NEW SONGTREESI don't wanna go through this life Without you by my side And I have got it all worked out In my head Here's how it's got to be It will be you and me up in the trees And the forest will give us the answers It'll be you and I up in the sky Its a combination for disaster We, we make believe In a world we rule together We, can build our dreams With a knot tied tight to last forever It will be you and me up in the trees And the forest will give us the answers It will be you and I up in the sky It's a combination for disaster Yeaa-yeaaa-yeaaa-yea-yea-yea We got one shot So let's use our imagination Yeaa-yeaaa-yeaaa-yea-yea-yea You're all that I've got So where do we go from here? It will be you and me up in the trees And the forest will give us the answer It will be you and I up in the sky It's a combination for disaster And I know there's more for us in this life If we hold on If we hold strong I know there's more for us in this life Can we hold on, can we hold on?

I first heard Trees on Rockstar: INXS. I loved Marty before that night - but hearing this original song just blew me away. It was just so much better than any of the others. It was this song that made me check out the Lovehammers website and google Marty Casey, which brought me to the org, etc., etc. If this is what he was writing - I wanted to hear more! Since then, I've heard him play it live several times. And I love the LH version so much more than the first one I heard, especially when they start it acoustic. I will say that it is not my favorite LH song, but I still love to hear it because it brings me back to how and why I found LH in the first place.

Yes, the first time I of course heard Trees was on Rock Star, but the first time I just loved it, was when it was backed by the Lovehammers. They make the sound so fresh, hard, and rockish. Is rockish a word? It should be. It's so catchy and an upbeat song, just makes ya feel like dancing when you hear it. Plus, I know when people hear it, they'll remember Marty, and then buy his CD's, so yeah..........The song is a good one! Should be around for a long time that one! Nancy
