Yes, you read it right, it's a new project, and we need your help!!!!!
Every 2 or 3 days, we'll have NEW lyrics up on this thread. I want:
1. Pick your favorite line, then tell us why it's your favorite. The meanings will more than likely be different from everyone, so it's ok.
2. Where were you at when you first heard this song?
3. What's the "special" memory that brings up this song?
4. What inspiration, if any, does this song, melody, lyrics, the whole package bring to your life?
5. Is there a part of the song you don't like? Which part?
Pick any or all, or make up your own description of the songs here listed. Just tell it to us please....This is a very special project we are doing, and NEED your input into the information here.
Thanks for all the support Nancy, Ceeje, NLT, and Dino

FIRST SONG
CASUALTY
Nobody's safe 'round here no more. Drag this lonely boat from the shore. Cut the ropes that bind me To save the ones behind me. Nobody's safe 'round here no more. No time to wait and see, I live this life for me.
Rise and fall, Climb the Walls. Won't stop till I have it all. Persistance. Resistance. One man can make a difference. The battle's inside of me. The fight's begun, but not yet won. And I won't become one more casualty.
I need to find my destiny. Drop my anchors, set me free. You don't know how it feels, 'Till your hands on the wheel. Drop my anchor, set me free.
Rise and fall, Climb the Walls. Won't stop till I have it all. Persistance. Resistance. One man can make a difference. The battle's inside of me. The fight's begun, but not yet won. And I won't become one more casualty.
Nobody says we're free We're drifting through the questions Swimming for the answers Trying to keep my sanity till I reach my destination And bring you here with me.
And I'll make you believe I have control But if I lose myself, How can I save you?
Rise and fall, Climb the Walls. Won't stop till I have it all. Persistance. Resistance. One man can make a difference.
Rise and fall, Climb the Walls. Won't stop till I have it all. Persistance. Resistance. One man can make a difference.
Rise and fall, Climb the Walls. Won't stop till I have it all. Persistance. Resistance. One man can make a difference. The battle's inside of me. The fight's begun, but not yet won. And I won't become...
The fight's begun, but not yet won. And I won't become one more casualty

Wow! This is going to be so cool!
I first heard this song when I bought the album last year. I think the favorite part of the song for me is the chorus. Especially "The battle's inside of me. The fight's begun, but not yet won." Those words so match my inner struggle with having more will power and self control. "And I won't become one more casualty."
However, when I hear this song, more than likely I think about not just Marty's struggle to win on Rockstar: INXS, but the struggle the guys are going through right now to overcome obstacles on the path to their (inevitable) success.

I SOOOOOO agree HY....That's one of the million reasons why I feel so passionately about this music....It changes, not only in the meaning of it personally, but what I FEEL it to be about regarding other people.......Yes, good examples....... OK, MY TURN The song came out in a time for me personally that I just can't change or think of differently, and I see how this song can be so many things to so many different people, I'm just stuck on this one moment in my life...... Shy, a.k.a. Taichiplayer- made this animation for me, that sticks in the head. Instead of One Man Can make a Difference......I hear, ONE FAN can make a Difference. ALL US FANS, all of us can make that difference.......She made that for me during the week last year, when I found out my tumors had become in a partial remission state, and that my chemotherapy had worked for the time being. All during this time, the Bass Campaign to win back Dino's Bass back for him was in full force, and I was literally pushing with everything I had in me, to get that instrument back to a man, that made a difference in my life. So, that song brings me back every time to that period of my life, where family was family, friends were pure, and we stood together for causes that mattered, for things in our lives that made a difference. Not just in our personal lives, but in the lives of the other people that we were meeting and connecting with..... OK, my novel is over...... YOUR TURN....

The first time I had heard this song was driving alone in my car, just after purchasing the MCLH cd. I loved the sound and feel immediately, and the words spoke very true to my personal feelings of inner struggles to live my life for me. I found myself turning up the radio, singing along and losing myself in the lyrics. I’d like to apologize now to all those driving around me that I made endure that horrible scene. ;D ;D ;D But, it was somehow inspiring to hear the words and feel the emotion in the song. The following lyrics remind me that life is to short to waste time living for everyone else and not for yourself, something that as a mother and wife I continually struggle with. No time to wait and see, I live this life for me. This set of lyrics remind me that live can be a constant struggle to know who you are and what your purpose is, but with strength I can overcome. The battle's inside of me. The fight's begun, but not yet won. And I won't become one more casualty. These words make me feel very powerful and make me believe that I can make a difference. I do try to live each day with the awareness of these words. Persistance. Resistance. One man can make a difference.I thank the Lovehammers daily for their songs which speak to me as words of encouragement and inspiration to look within myself and be the best that I can be. Oh MY that sounded like an Army ad, I think I'll shut it now. ;D ;D ;D

I first heard the song on January 17, 2006 when Doc came into the Asylum to tell us the songs were up on VH1. That same day, Nancy divorced her toilet, DG reached 4000 posts and goaded me into my 50th .
“But if I lose myself, How can I save you?” is the line that means the most to me. Most women are always giving and doing things for others instead of themselves. They see themselves as somebody’s mother, daughter, wife, etc., and lose their own identity. If you don’t take time each day to do something special for yourself, then one day you will have nothing left to give anyone else.
There isn’t anything I don’t like about the song, except that since it was made in the studio without performing it live, Marty has a hard time singing it in concert without straining his voice. I think if they had tried it out in concert more before recording it, it would have turned out differently.

My favorite lines would have to be the chorus. Especially "One man can make a difference" and "I won't become one more Casualty" It's my favorite because it makes me feel better when my dad has to go / is in Iraq.
The first time I heard the song I was sitting on a chair listening to the CD. I was sooo excited because my dad finally sent it to me after me bugging him for about 3 months.
The special memory would have to be when my dad came back from Iraq healthy and in one piece. Im hoping that will happen the second time.
When Im having difficulty doing something the song gives me inspiration to not give up. It also makes me feel really lucky. I don't know why.
There isn't a part of the song that I don't like. It just stinks that Marty sometimes strains his voice when he sings it live.

I first heard this song Feb 2006. I bought the CD as a birthday present to myself even though it was my daughters birthday. More like a pat on the back for surviving the big 5! Marty has a very special gift and I could feel it the first time I heard him sing on RS:INXS. His drive and hunger for success was so overwhelming in the most positive way that you couldn't help but be drawn to him. Listening to him sing and feeling all the energy that Dino, Bill, Bob and Marty put out there gave me a new outlook on life. I felt a strong connection with this song because I had just ended a 13 year relationship. My life was boring and uneventful. Then came along these four wonderful guys! I need to find my destiny. Drop my anchors, set me Free. This is one of my favorite lines. I guess you could says it's how I ended up in Chicago for NYE. Everyone thought I was nuts for going. The shy quite one who never strays too far from home. I wanted to change, step outside the box, and see where it would take me. Well, I did it and I"m not looking back. HammerCruise here I come! The battle's inside of me. The fight's begun, but not yet won.I'm struggling to find myself again. Trying not to be dependent on others when I can do it for myself. And being the wonderful procrastinator that I am, it's not easy. But if I lose myself, How can I save you?And most importantly, there's my daughter. I want to show her life is exciting and has so much to offer. Without her, I don't know where I'd be. I'm very thankful that I was introduced to the Lovehammers because I've been able to experience life in a whole new way! Ok, that just felt like a Hallmark moment. Good Grief! Who's next?

I'm honored to know you guys, and thanks for sharing! This is definitely my FAVORITE thread of them all!!! We are sharing more than just pieces of ourselves here, we are giving to ourselves the peace and love that we each need individually, and through the music, we can become better people, happier, and more well rounded as individuals......The Lovehammers is giving this continually to us, and having this spot to give back and share our experiences, well, is just awesome. Thanks. Once again, I'm honored to be here for you goofers, and to get to know ya all in a more enlightening way! Love Nancy

Ok, I'll play along...
And I'll make you believe I have control But if I lose myself, How can I save you?
This is the story of my entire life. The constant controller and puppeteer, the stone cold bitch, always sane pillar of strength, emotional rock, supporter, and level-headed friend at large....if I don't appear this way then will I be able to save anyone. This is a tough thing to do. The rough exterior is just that, but no one ever gets to see the squishy stuff inside. That's my job and my role in life. Great line though... I was going to pick the one about cutting the rope, cause that's a Building a Better Spaceship line and all...hehe... you know I had to throw that in there....xoxo

The things I love about this song, is that it Inspires Me, Energizes Me, Makes me feel Powerful.
The lyrics:
One man can make a difference.
Makes me think of Marty and that HE IS "One man can make a difference". Marty accomplishes this everytime he performs live, creates new music and lyrics and records the music.
The lyrics:
The battle's inside of me. The fight's begun, but not yet won. And I won't become one more casualty.
Like the lyrics say, I have battle's that I am trying to win....but I Won't become one more casualty.....I refuse to lose.
The next lyrics are perfectly worded and exactly what I am working on:
I need to find my destiny. Drop my anchors, set me free. You don't know how it feels, 'Till your hands on the wheel.
