SHOEBOX OF LOVEHAMMERS LOVE
STEP ONE:
Get an empty shoebox.
1. The U.S. Postal Service offers FREE BOXES for Priority Mail. You can also order free boxes from the USPS online store (for use with Priority Mail shipping only). The RECOMMENDED SIZE is the #4 or #7 box. Or call 1-800-222-1811.
2. Go to your local VFW. They are giving these SHOEBOXES away for free!
3. Go to your local church. Many churches are contributing to this effort if you do not have a local VFW in your town.
2 MINUTES OF EFFORT
Any questions on STEP ONE, please ask here. Any comments on STEP ONE, please ask here.
Thanks for the support

Jo, thank you for asking this question. Here is a number to call:
1-800-222-1811
Or
1-800-ASK-USPS
They will send you as many shoeboxes as you request!
If you are still having a problem finding the shoeboxes, and would rather make a cash donation for the Shoebox of Lovehammers Love campaign, there is a thread here named Charity Box. You could contribute in that manner, and I've got "plenty" of shoeboxes that I've already got to be made up for travel to Iraq.
Either way, thank you very much for your support! Nancy

Thanks for the dimensions, luva. I live in Canada so I'm going to go to the post office and find those box sizes and their corresponding numbers. I'll post the Canada Post box #'s here. I know there are other Canadian LH fans who plan to get involved with this.

Okay, I sent off my box and everything. Sent it today and via priority mail. I had to use a box I bought sized 13 X 11 X 6. I looked everywhere and cause i'm such a procrastinator I could not request a box to be sent to me so please email me if there is anything else I need to do to help. I think that box should do it. my email is yerbamate4lhs@hotmail.com Thanks

I laughed when I saw that yerba... I found Step One to be the hardest part...the damn box! I procrastinated too, but it went out today, via priority. I can't wait to hear how many boxes are going!

I have to laugh because the box was the biggest problem for me, too! Thankfully the post office had 1 #7 box left last Saturday when I mailed it out. No other size fit my shoebox. Don't tell, but with the help of my six year old son I 'borrowed' some bubble wrap from the post office to fill the box with. I stuffed the whole roll in the box with the shoebox, sealed it, took it to the window and paid for the postage and all along, my son had the bubble wrap wrapper. When we got in the car he asked when I was going to pay for the bubble wrap :-0 I still need to go back and do that!

I put all the stuff straight in the large box. No actual shoebox. Doh! Did I manage to mess this up? I'm sure it will all work out.
