Great letter, Glory. It's nice to see we are getting a response. Hope you get a response to your email, too. I'm ditto'ing this, I'm also looking forward to hearing how much they LOVED the music! I was thinking through ALL of that time, fun, and yes work. If only ONE Soldier got a "peaceful", or "good" moment from listening to that CD, then everything was worth it! And LOOK at all the responses here! I'm thinking Mr. Kourelis has allot to add to this page.......So, that IS a good thing that the Soldiers are responding back to the BAND and to the FANS! Awesome feeling

I'm also wondering if Building a Better Spaceship has heard anything from the Soldiers. Doc and DG donated ALLOT of CD's of theirs as well, for the soldiers. Am lookin' forward to hearing back about it all....Everyone's contributions was so heart felt and warming, it was a good campaign!

Today is MEMORIAL DAY.....The time to do I remembers, and to HONOR the Veterans that have lost their lives, and passed away...... Everyone here knows a veteran. In one way or another, either on a personal level or just as a person that lives in this great Country of ours. LETS REMEMBER them here! By starting quick or lengthy I remember NOTES to them HERE on THIS DAY.....By remembering someone, they never really die, by keeping their memories alive, their works, their lives, they will never be forgotten..... LETS SHARE.....

I remember my father. Charles Otis Davis. He was in the Air Force, and worked for the Illinois State Correctional Administrative etc......He didn't serve or do any war time activities, but was honored in many ways. Correctional reform was his "I want to make a difference" way of thinking. Before my dad, there was NO books, libraries, or any educational materials in prisons, jails, or holding facilities. Someone would mess up, be sent to jail, and inadvertly come out worse off then when they entered. The community would have nothing for them. This was in the late 1950's and early 1960's. When you committed a CRIME, you were thought of as having more of a health problem then a social or criminal one. My dad helped change that way of thinking. He reformed the Illinois Correctional Institues into providing education, books, trade degrees for inmates, to have something or some kind of TRADE to do when released back into the community. His name is in History Books for this MAJOR Reform Era, that switched the Medical Theory of Criminal Behavior to one of Judicial Reformations....His notes are breath taking, and I admire him allot. Hence me going into the Criminal Justice field LONG time ago, I wanted to continue his "Make a Difference" thoughts and do good by people. LMAO, and I found the Lovehammers, go figure.... Well, that's MY REMEMBER moment, my father.

Glad I could share my son's Soldier Letter with everyone ... unfortunately, i still haven't received an answer to my e-mail regarding his thoughts on the Lh CD...maybe soon...I'll post as soon as I hear.
Nancy, I LOVED the story of your father. What an amazing man! Wish I could think of someone to write about on Memorial Day but being a Canadian the only connection to America/ War and Memories would be all the American Draft Dodgers that were allowed a home in Canada as they tried to understand who they were and what they believed in. They were VERY young. I have wonderful memories of them and how brave they were to make that decision for themselves...never seeing their familes and friends for years and years.
We didn't get a holiday today in Canada but my American husband did take the day off...lol He had a nice day!
