Here are my answers: 1. What do you wish now for Christmas? Peace and good health.2. What did you wish for typically when growing up? Games, toys, puzzles, Colorforms, comic books, baseball cards, dolls, video games, music...on and on. *I'm a very indecisive only child, can you tell?* 3. What was your favorite present? At first thought, I think of the guitar I asked for and received but have yet learned to play. I also loved my first computer...it was a Tandy and bought for me around the time I headed to college. Yet, as an adult...I'd have to say the most special present was when I was a kid in the 80's. My folks had split up and the ever popular item that Christmas was the Cabbage Patch Kids. This was back when people were fighting over them in the stores and stuff. I was living with my mom. Dad came up for Christmas early with a "fake" CBK...he had a lady where he lived make it. Very sweet and all, but imagine my surprise when I went into the living room of my house around 5 a.m. on Christmas morning to find a doll bed with a REAL Cabbage Patch doll standing in the corner and a trunk full of clothes for her. Mom had gotten the real deal. Her name is Karena Ginger and I still have her to this day. 4. What was your lamest present? I agree with Dino. There are no lame presents. Although one year a friend bought me the DVD of Ben-Hur for some unknown reason. It's a great film, but I'm more of a musicals/film noir/old Hollywood romance kind of a girl.5. What was the funniest? I don't remember. Somewhere along the way I acquired a Ms. Pac-Man puppet. She has legs! I just don't remember if I got her for Christmas or a birthday.6. If you were to give a gag gift to Billy, what would it be? Me, a gag gift? *bats eyes innocently*...Maybe a leg lamp.7. If you were to give a gag gift to Bob, what would it be? Hmm...don't know. Some shirt about how bass players are gods??? I bet he'd re-gift it to Dino.8. If you were to give a gag gift to Marty, what would it be? I don't know. A Victoria's Secret nametag, like the employees wear maybe...9. Do you open presents Christmas morning, or some other time? Christmas morning or afternoon...whenever we wake up. No kids in the house...so there is a tendency to sleep in around here.10. What is your signature dish you bring to family parties? I don't know that I have a "signature dish". Usually when I do take something it's something sweet like Christmas Wreaths (basically the Rice Krispies treats recipe with corn flakes used instead of the Krispies, green food coloring mixed in, and them decorated with red hots for the holly berries), or some kind of cake or cookies. Sometimes I make candy, but I haven't done that in a while.11. Have you ever re gifted a gift, if so, what was it? Not that I remember.12. What's your best memory of a Christmas day? I don't know. Mom's side of the family used to get together sometimes on Christmas and play lots of games. One time I was on a roll in a trivia game. They kept saying I wouldn't get the next answer because the question would be something like "Which studio boss was David O. Selznick's father-in-law?" and I had absorbed that the answer was Louie B. Mayer while watching a documentary on Gone With the Wind. That was pretty funny. A good game of Balderdash is always fun. We always played that game.13. Do you look forward to Christmas time? ABSOLUTELY. I love the season...the fact I get a week off from work at that time doesn't hurt either .14. If you could give ALL your fans ONE thing each, what would it be? Love, health, and happiness.15. Real Tree or Plastic? Le faux tree. Cats in house + real tree = bad idea.16. Hand-made ornaments or store bought Both. I still hang ornaments that I made in Art class in high school each year, and we have a tradition of getting the metal ones engraved for one another yearly...so we have a ton of those. Plus I have the ones I made for the contest last year at the .org, and other crafty ones. I love to craft.17. egg nog or fruit punch Fruit punch, please.18. fireplace or not We have one, but it's equipped for gas and we don't have a log yet. Hey, there's an idea for mom's present!19. turkey or ham Neither personally...ham if I'm forced to choose, but I think we may try a Cajun turkey this year.20. What's the most important tradition that you will pass down from year to year to your children? No kids now. If I do have any in the future, I'd like to teach them to help those who are less fortunate and volunteer to help various causes/organizations. One way I would do this is through adoption of an angel off a local angel tree each year. I picked out an angel tonight. Now I just have to go pick out the gifts for that girl.21. Your Favorite Christmas Song is......? "Merry Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) - U2, "The Mad Russian's Christmas" - Trans-Siberian Orchestra, "The Grinch" - Trans-Siberian Orchestra, "Grandma Got Ran Over By a Reindeer" - Elmo & Patsy, "The Christmas Shoes", "O Holy Night", "Silent Night", "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" - John and Yoko...there's just too many...it goes on and on.
OH, and ALL THE SONGS FROM EMMET OTTER'S JUG-BAND CHRISTMAS!
