Steroids - Investigation Category: News and Politics
I would like to begin this with saying that I an no expert in this matter, nor do I write what I write to get people to assemble or create any kind of movement. I am basically just sharing my thoughts. I expect people to think for themselves, get their own conclusions, and most importantly don't ever be afraid to question anyone or anything - politicians, teachers, society, etc. The moment you quit asking questions is the moment you stop learning and growing.
ANYWAY..... I had the pleasure of watching most of the Congressional Hearing yesterday on Steroids while I was updating a bunch of software on my computers. I say pleasure, because I liken what I saw to a slap stick sit com. You have a bunch of Congressmen/Congresswoman thinking they are on the cast of Law and Order or something. Most asked ridiculous questions, and others gave their best Johnny Cochran imitation. I will say that a few (and I mean just a few) actually seemed intelligent, and had some interesting thoughts and questions on the matter. The other Comedy was Brian McNamee and Roger Clemens. McNamee seems to be a total creep, has not told the truth pretty much ever, and seems to be an overall slimeball. Clemens was getting drilled on pretty much one thing - a conversation he had with Andy Petitte 10 years ago. I don't remember conversations that I had 10 minutes ago - especially conversations I had with my good friends. I think it is ridiculous that this is what everyone was focusing on. It is also ridiculous that this CONGRESSIONAL HEARING ON STEROIDS turned into a Congressional Hearing on who was telling the truth - Clemens or McNamee. What about the other players? Why didn't anyone else participate? This is supposed to be a way to find a solution to HELP THE KIDS! There is no way this is helping anyone except possibly the egos of these Congressmen/Congresswoman, as they were able to bully people around for a few hours.
Whether or not I believe Clemens took this stuff really doesn't matter, and it shouldn't matter to anyone else either. It is obvious that during this time frame, a majority of players were taking this stuff - they should concentrate on cleaning that up - PERIOD. As for doing it for the kids, please don't insult us like that. Kids do not do steroids because their Heros do!!!!!!! That is the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard. 8 and 10 year olds are not taking steroids. High School kids are doing it to get better at their sport. It has NOTHING to do with Pro Athletes doing it. When you are in High School you grow out of the phase where you are infatuated with these people. People took steroids when I was in High School and College, and it wasn't because any Pro Athletes did - it was because they wanted to get bigger, faster, stronger and found an easy way to do it. It is the same reason why overweight people are always looking for a quick fix to lose weight - it can be done with hard work and a reasonable diet, but most people do not have the self control to do these things - including myself - LOL!
One last thing I would like to touch on is the Bary Bonds issue. Barry is being blasted, and people are saying his records should not count etc, because he took these substances. Well, if they weren't banned by baseball at the time, why should he be penalized? There are many substances that are banned every year in all sports - does that mean that any player that took products such as Creatine or Ephadrine should also have their records taken away? The argument is that Steroids, etc were illegal, so even though things weren't banned from MLB, since they were illegal, it is automatically illegal in MLB. Well, I would like to point out that Lawrence Taylor has admitted to being on cocaine while we has playing in the NFL. As far as I know, cocaine is illegal and definitely will enhance your performance - especially in football, and it explains much of his reckless play. Why hasn't anyone tried to take away his records or accomplishments?
PS. I was thinking and typing at the same time, so I am sure my thoughts are all over the place, my grammar is a mess, spelling issues, etc. Please know that I an aware of that, but way too lazy to revise or even read what I wrote

dino posted this at .com
Dudes,
I need everyone to take some video of themselves getting ready for Hammerfest, driving to Hammerfest, etc. Be funny, creative, etc. Take video of yourselves lip syncing our songs while you get ready - in the shower (KEEP IT CLEAN), etc. Maybe a carload of peeps singing in the car on the way there, etc. use a video camera, phone, anything you have
We will have a place for everyone to upload their videos, then my crazy mind will get to work with this vision I have, and hopefully it will turn out cool.
Again, please be creative, and have fun with this....

dino blog: Manic Monday - VERY IMPORTANT - NEED FEEDBACK Current mood: amused Category: Quiz/Survey
Was the song Manic Monday written on a Monday?
Is Sunday everyone’s Funday, or just Prince’s when he wrote the song? Has his Funday changed?
Since it is his "I don’t have to Runday" does he never do Cardio on Sundays?
