I agree...there are many of you here that are quite the conversationalist....while I am known more as the shy, quiet type. I think I'm coming outta my shell though.....

Hey gang, this is pretty cool--LA Guns fans are starting to ask about Lovehammers' music! Here is a post I put on their board: Yes, so many good songs to choose from. One of my faves is an often-overlooked cut from the album L'Strange, called "Undertow". I like that one even better on the Shuba's acoustic show disc, but electric is good, too.
L'Strange is such an excellent album! I think I saw it's available at CD Baby now, and also on iTunes, if I recall.
I like the original version of "Eyes Can't See" a lot, too. The part that was cut from the 2006 CD version is my fave part of the song. It's just so totally badass! He sings in a mix of a low whisper and growl "I don't care if you're scared........I don't care if everybody stares....yeeeahhhhh......" with a menacing bass line in the background, then it launches back into full band, with Marty in full-throated scream again. WOW!!!! Love it!
Edited to add: I forgot to mention that the original version of "Eyes Can't See' is on their CD "Murder On My Mind", which is from 2004, if I recall. It's still available online, and I've even seen it at Best Buy stores now and then. It's also available at the Lovehammers Store, www.lhstore.com . You can find Lovehammers' latest DVD at their store, along with Tshirts and all kinds of other goodies.
The 2006 CD, Marty Casey and Lovehammers, is there as well, and also the Acoustic Chicago CD, which has their song "Driving Blind" on it. "Driving Blind" reminds me a bit of "The Ballad of Jayne"--moving song, has strings on it, very cool! There are also a lot of other talented Chicago artists on that CD. I really enjoy the whole thing. There are several female singers on there whose voices totally blow me away--Jen Porter, Sarah Potenza, and Micki Croisant. Andreas Kapsalis is an acoustic guitar virtuoso who is featured on the Acoustic Chicago CD. He has done movie soundtracks, too. Oh yeah, Acoustic Chicago is not only the CD, but also a DVD of the artists performing all of the songs on there.Expect to get some new shoppers here soon!

It's GREAT to see and hear street teaming alive and well. I'm also glad Marty will be singing some songs from LH's, at least there will be some great songs for sure being heard during this tour, I'm excited ....and one's people are familiar with of course. But in my opinion, only Billy can bring those riffs to life, it'll be interesting to hear the reviews public and privately.... Nancy

Good job, BBE P.S. Did you hear the VH1 Rock Honors this year will honor The Who? I thought of you when I saw that the other day...I think it will be on July 17th, but I'm not sure.

Good job, BBE P.S. Did you hear the VH1 Rock Honors this year will honor The Who? I thought of you when I saw that the other day...I think it will be on July 17th, but I'm not sure. Thanks! Yep, I plan to street-team the "$#!+" outta the LA Guns fans! Cindy at MC.org/com said that she got an email from Marty saying that he plans to play some LH songs on tour, so you know he's gonna give a shout out to LH. Can't just play them with no explanation. This is what I was trying to tell people about how I thought Marty would find a way to shine a light back at Lovehammers. Someone made some crack about a unicorn, as in, that would never happen. Then a few days later, a living unicorn of the deer variety was discovered! That just goes to show that people should always stay open to possibilities. Did you see the article that says that they expect Rocklahoma to draw 200-300 THOUSAND people this year? And they will be hearing some LH music played! I really hope some people street team at that thing!!! Oh, I'm really psyched for The Who on Rock Honors! Thanks for thinking of me.

Hello Gang.....In case you missed it Matt Hoffer stopped by lh.com and left a message to the fans lovehammersforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=7267Like all of you, I'm kinda bumming about the Lh breakup/hiatus, or whatever you want to call it. While my focus has always been Holding Mercury, I had an amazing time filling in here and there as a sideman and certainly learned elements of professionalism, performance and songwriting from the guys that I now apply to my own project. It was fun playing to (often) huge crowds, and becoming friends with a band I had respected for some time before sharing the stage. As far as the break up goes, it is not my place to comment one way or the other about who is right or wrong. I can't pretend to know the history of the band and everything involved over the past 20 years. I wish Marty the best of luck traveling around the world supporting a new record and hope Bobby, Dino and Billy continue to write and perform in one way or another. As I probably won't see a lot of you for a while, or maybe ever, I didn't want to part without expressing my gratitude to you all. You guys helped me quite a bit as I was in a tailspin after the Supernova deal. As you can imagine, that whole experience was very anti-climatic and disillusioning for me. Playing that gig at Park West really helped me get back on my feet and get my mind off what had just happened. Believe me, the many kind emails and myspace messages from you all after the show certainly helped me get back into a positive frame of mind. Many of you have continued to support me (especially Heidi and Rachel..thank you!) by coming by the HM/solo shows, buy cds and check in on myspace/email every so often, and I just wanted to say "thank you", plain and simple. Perhaps one day I will grace the stage with the Hammers again. If not, I've got a few very special memories I'll take with me forever.... Take care, everyone! Love and respect- Matt
