IMPORTANT ADVICE:Please follow this for your Hammercrew State Page or your own personal page. 1. Change your password OFTEN. 2. COPY and PASTE your coding, in "about me", in anywhere that you would like to save, in an email, and email it to yourself. DO NOT USE MYSPACE to save the codes, Myspace over-rides codes like that. In doing these 2 very important things. If something ever happens to your site, like getting deleted by being phished or stolen, will prevent some troubles. Then, the only thing to do is cry and add your friends again. But, AT LEAST your not crying, adding friends, AND redecorating your site! Thanks to all of you guys for what you are doing. This plan is WORKING, and is doing GREAT in getting NEW FANS. Nancy

Thank you Nancy for posting "Important Advice". It is so unfortunate that sjjo has lost her page. Another thing that can be done is copying and saving all your pages of friends. You can easily contact them again and request them.

MORE advice. Change your PASSWORD often! Make it Mondays, we do. Every Monday morning, change it. This way, repetition and keeping it changed will help in any phishing problems evil people attempt to do. I've read up on some phishing issues. Programs and people can't send spam as easily as before on the public comments, so. Many times, this is what they will do. They will go in there and simply delete your account. Evil yes, pointless yes, but it IS happening. So, don't get your account phished, and change your password often. If you go into a site, and your already LOGGED ON, and it asks you for your myspace password log on information again, you thinking your puter has froze or myspace sucks is happening, DON'T DO IT. You are at a site that PHISHES, this is the most POPULAR way for them to get your password. Look up at your browser address window, if it says anything but myspace.com, GET OUT OF THERE QUICK LIKE. Change your password, and report those suckas to myspace! If we don't report it, they will just continue to get away with it. Ok, I've rambled enough here. Any questions just ask. Nancy

Hi guys! Rockfan and I have taken the HammerCrew plunge and are doing a MySpace page for the Carolinas. Yes, North and South Carolina will be reunited once more! The reason for my post is that I thought it might be useful to have some very basic helps available for those who have never done a MySpace at all. I was talking to Gail about this, and she suggested I post a couple of things in here. I am NOT a MySpace expert and frequently hound my friends for codes, so if you catch me making a mistake, please correct me. I have muddled through this like most of the rest of you, but I think I've got the basics down enough to get newbies started. If someone who has more expertise and has the time would be willing, it would great to have a list of helpful hints that could be posted here and maybe on the main ST MySpace for people to have quick access to. The Canada West page has some great reference info in their blogs. Using this format to list the codes would probably work well. Okay, so here's MySpace 101 for starting your page, placing banners, making line breaks, and centering pictures. GETTING STARTED This program is very easy to help you get your page set up. It makes it easy to put in a background picture, too. Create the picture the way you want it to look in photoshop. If you want to use more than one picture, combine them in photoshop to make them into one image. There's a space to upload your image, and it repeats the image or places it where you want it on the page. You can also create a slideshow from there. Here's the link: myspace.nuclearcentury.com/profileeditor.php
BANNERS Here's the code for a banner I did for LhFC:
<br> </br> <div align="center"><a href="http://www.lovehammersfanclub.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.lovehammersfanclub.com/lhfanclub/images/myspace/lhshoes.jpg"</a></div> <br> </br>
You can use this as a template. First, change the url to the link you want. So for this one you'd change it from lovehammersfanclub.com to lovehammers.com, or wherever you want it to link to. Next, change the bottom url to your image location (photobucket or wherever you store your photos).
Once you put this in place and save it, MySpace does this goofy thing that changes some of the code. So when you go back to find it later, it's got gobblety gook instead of your link. The code above ends up looking like this:
<div align="center"><a href="http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LmxvdmVoYW1tZXJzZmFuY2x1Yi5jb20=" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.lovehammersfanclub.com/lhfanclub/images/myspace/lhshoes.jpg"</a></div>
If you don't want the banner to be linked anywhere, delete the first part of the code. A non-linked banner code looks like this:
<div align="center"><img src="http://www.lovehammersfanclub.com/lhfanclub/images/myspace/lhshoes.jpg"</a></div>
LINE BREAKS This code <br> is a line break. You won't always need them, but I like to put a couple in between items to space them out. It also helps to keep everything from running together when you go in to make changes later. Put this code </br> as the final one to activate the line break. Just putting extra returns does NOT make line breaks on your page.
CENTERING AN IMAGE This <div align="center"> centers the image. Flush left is the default, so just leave this code off if you want it flush left. To end the code use this: </div>
MISC. Remember as you're working that generally if you start a code, you have to have an ending for it, which is the same code with / at the beginning of it. If you center something and forget to end it, everything following will be centered, which you might not want.
As you create your page, frequently save the codes you use into a text file or Word document. That way, if you screw up, you can just cut and paste and start over.[/color] Hope this helps! Please add your own tips as you think of them. I might need them!

Thanks, ladies! Here's something Gail shared with me, and I'm so excited because I found I could alter it to fit my banner. This is for the Extended Network box at the top of the right hand column. You can replace the default text with a graphic. Make sure your graphic is the correct width (460 pixels), and you can adjust the height in the code to fit. Here's the code:
<style>table table table td {vertical-align:top ! important;}span.blacktext12 {visibility:visible !important; background-color:transparent;background-image:url("http://ww w.lovehammersfanclub.com/lhfanclub/images/myspace/carolina/Lh Banner460x134Final.jpg");background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position:center center;width:460px; height:134px; display:block !important;font-size:0.0em; letter-spacing:-5px;}span.blacktext12 span,span.blacktext12 img {display:none;}</style>
Replace the url in green with the url for your graphic. Then change the height (also in green) to match the height of your graphic. Place this at the top of your "About Me" section on the edit page.

My help point or suggestion for the day. Try to not bulletin your friends list to death. Sending out too many bulletins, makes for repetitions and people then not paying attention to said bulletins. When it's TOUR time, then send out bulletins all you can, and that will enhance and GRAB the attention of your friends more so if they see it ever so often, instead of every hour. Use your imaginations, post comments, make banners, BLOG about your item up for sell, or other special events that is happening in your particular State! This is JUST my opinion, and NOT a direct rule, so either take the advice or don't, all is great and all will be fine. Nancy Hey all, I just thought I would bump this to remind everyone that too many bulletins at one time isn't always a good thing. I just got a message at my HC site stating that the person was blocking all the Lovehammers sites on her friends list except Florida HC because she gotten an an overload of bulletins this weekend. I went back to her profile and the Florida HC site was the only LH site left. Anyway, just thought it served as a good reminder to be creavtive in getting info out there and not relpy so heavily on bulletins.

Yes, I agree. But if someone has all of the Hammercrew States, other fan sites, etc....as their friends, then yes, they will probably be bothered like this. Bulletins when used during times of pushing things is a great tool. When you don't post bulletins on that regular basis, and then WHEN ya do, they are read and responded too. I'm thinking so far, everyone of the HammerCrew States is doing just perfect and scheduling of their bulletins is fine. Remember this: Ya can never please everyone. Even though we try, just can't be done. Keep up all this great work, the States pages are doing their job! Getting new fans, introducing old ones, and preparing for that GROUND effort during the Tour. Nancy
